Crash Results In Threats Charge Against Mankato Man

MANKATO (TEC News) -- A minor, two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Mankato led to Terroristic Threats charges being filed against the driver of one of the vehicles.

34-year-old Nathan Gregory Beltz was also arrested on charges of 2nd Degree DWI and Domestic Assault.

The driver of the second vehicle struck by Beltz at the intersection of Pohl Road and Balczerak Drive was also the alleged victim of the domestic assault.

However police reports available this morning didn't document what happened to warrant the domestic assault charges.

Commander Deb McDermott described the crash as minor and said there were no injuries to either Beltz or the victim. She also says it doesn't appear the crash was on purpose.

The victim called 9-1-1 and told police she believed Beltz had been drinking and may be on his way to his home in the 100 block of Cloverlane.

Police responding to the home watched Beltz drive his car into his garage where he was arrested.

McDermott says the 58-year-old female was a "relative" of Beltz.

Police described the threats as being verbal in nature.
