MANKATO (TEC News) -- Some underage drinking led to the eventual arrest early Saturday morning of an 18-year-old female Minnesota State University student inside Gage Towers.
Mankato police were first called to the dorm around 1:40 a.m. after Kayla Charde Johnson admitted to MSU Security that she had been drinking. Johnson shut her dorm room door on security and they used a key to enter the room.
Police officers arrived and issued a citation to Johnson and released her.
Less than two hours later, Mankato police were called back to Gage Towers when security witnessed Johnson allegedly assaulting an 18-year-old male in the dorms lobby.
By the time officers arrived, Johnson had retreated to her dorm room where she refused to get out of bed and resisted arrest.
Johnson was arrested on charges of obstruction with force, assault and disorderly conduct.
