MANKATO (TEC News) -- Crews from CenterPoint Energy are busy today working to restore gas service to around 205 homes after Wednesday afternoon's gas line break outside Mankato East High School.
Mankato Fire Commander Don Lehne says CenterPoint crews finished the repairs at 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
Lehne says CenterPoint first concern was to get East back on line in time for school today.
A crew planting trees at East High School broke an 8 inch line causing the evacuation of the school around 2:15 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Lehne says CenterPoint started going door-to-door around 7:30 a.m. Thursday to light pilot lights.
If no one was home, Lehne says CenterPoint workers were hanging notes on doors with a phone number to call.
