MANKATO (TEC News) – A suicidal man is dead after a confrontation with Mankato police. Officers responded to the 600 block of Byron Street just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Police say the suicidal male was asked to drop his firearm.
Shots were fired and the man was dead at the scene. Police did not say who fired the shots.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been called in to investigate.
