Train Derails In Eagle Lake



EAGLE LAKE (TEC News) – Around 320 Eagle Lake residents were evacuated Wednesday after a train derailment between Highway 14 and County Road 17.

Four cars of the 80 car train derailed. T

he cars contained ethanol, but did not leak.

There were no injuries reported.

The evacuation impacted residents of the Cedar Path and Valley Lane neighborhoods. Those needing help with temporary housing were sent to the American Legion to meet with Red Cross and railroad representative.

About 400 feet of track will be replaced overnight before the raile cars can be uprighted.
