MANKATO (TEC News) – Tomorrow marks a tragic date in the history of Vikings training camp in Mankato.
It is the ten year anniversary of the heatstroke-related death of #77 Korey String.
The heat index in Mankato that day was 110 degree. Stringer had a core temp of 108 degrees when he arrived at a Mankato hospital.
He died around 2 a.m. on August 1, 2001.
That morning Head Coach Denny Green, Cris Carter and Randy Moss spoke at an emotional press conference at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
