Sorry, Minnesota Is Closed

ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s state government is shutdown after Democrats and Republicans failed to reach a budget deal by the midnight deadline.

The two sides have been at odds for six months on how to solve a $5 billion dollar deficit.
The prospects of a shutdown had staff a Flandrau State Park in New Ulm chasing people from the pool and campsites Thursday afternoon.

All state parks had to close as part of the government shutdown.
The shutdown will have an impact beyond state parks being closed.

You won’t be able to get a fishing license and it you are traveling, highway rest stops are closed.

The Minnesota Zoo is closed and there’s no racing at Canterbury Park.

And the 26 sites operated by the Minnesota Historical Society are also closed.
