MANKATO – An intoxicated man who was upset about his job is accused of threatening a man with a knife.
Mankato police were called to 197 Lime Valley Road last Wednesday when 28-year-old Clinton Hammond allegedly walked up to the home asking for a man who was inside the house. Witnesses say Hammond “appeared drunk” and was yelling things about his job. When he told those at the home that he wanted to “kill some people” they called 9-1-1.
A male at the home told police that Hammond pulled a switchblade and could hear the “whoosh” as Hammond swung the knife at his chest.
Police later found Hammond and arrested him. The court complaint says Hammond was combative at the Blue Earth County Jail and resisted going into a holding cell.
They say it took four officers and a “drive stun” to subdue Hammond and place him in a restraint chair.
Hammond has been charged in Blue Earth County District Court with a felony count of 2nd Degree Assault, and misdemeanor counts of 5th Degree Assault and Obstruction.
