MANKATO -- Two people were injured early Sunday morning when a car ran off Riverfront Drive in Mankato and hit a lightpole.

The State Patrol says the 27-year-old driver, Jonathan Bjorke of Minneapolis was taken to Mayo hospital in Mankato with minor injuries.

The Patrol also says alcohol was detected.

A passenger, 30-year-old Annette Schiefelbein of New Hope, was also taken to Mayo hospital in Mankato with "non-life threatening" injuries.

The accident was reported around 2:49 a.m. Sunday.
