Gaylord Man Gets 90 Days For Escaping Custody From New Ulm Hospital

Gaylord (Monday, February 8, 2010) -- A Gaylord man burglary suspect will spend 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to Second-Degree Burglary and Escape From Custody. 20-year-old Michael Karstein Eng, III has been arrested for the November burglary of a Gaylord home. After he was picked up on a warrant, Eng threatened to kill himself in the Sibley County jail and was they taken to the New Ulm Medical Center where he placed in the psychiatric unit. Eng later pushed his way through a door at the secure unit and was later found in New Ulm hiding at his brother's mobile home.
