WASECA (TEC News) - Information was released this morning about a 46-year-old man from Oakdale who rolled his vehicle south of Waseca on Highway 13. Initial investigations by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Austin Police Department report that the man was involved in a homicide that resulted in a high speed chase before the crash.
At 3 a.m., a report came in to the Austin Police Department about someone yelling for help from a home on the 500 block of 4th Street. The occupant of the home, who cried for help, was found dead. Officials witnessed a car leaving the area at a high rate of speed and down the block ran a red light. Officers were in pursuit and State Patrol, Mower, Freeborn and Waseca County sheriffs joined. Stop sticks were deployed and caused the suspect to lose control of his vehicle and rolled. He was ejected and reported dead on scene.
No names have been released as of yet, but investigations are still ongoing. More information later this afternoon.
