Mankato Area Drought Fears

Mankato (KMKO)-Concerns over drought continue in southern Minnesota because of the long stretch of hot weather with very little precipitation.  Moderate drought conditions are now being seen in southwestern Minnesota.  We could see some relief over the next 24 hours, but Meteorologist Byron Paulson of the National Weather Service says the long-term outlook doesn't hold any promise.  The southern fifth of Wisconsin is now rated as severe drought.
