LE SUEUR COUNTY-November 13, 2012-(KMKO)--A settlement has been issued for the Heilman family of Kasota. In 2009, 24-year-old Tyler Heilman was shot four times by Le Sueur County Sheriff's detective, Todd Waldron during a dispute over irresponsible driving. The two got into a brawl when he didn't give the detective his driver's license. Le Sueur county officials reported that witnesses said Heilman had Waldron in a headlock when he pulled out his gun. The detective was not in uniform. Waldron's case was dropped by a jury, but Heilman's father filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court. The Heilman's will receive $750,000 from the settlement.
