HAM Radio Emergency Testing



MANKATO-September 24, 2012—(KMKO)—Simulated emergency testing will be conducted October 6th for amateur radio operators in southern Minnesota.  The Mankato Area Radio Club will team up with the Viking Amateur Radio Society and the Rochester Amateur Radio Club to have simultaneous tests from 9:00 am to noon to prepare for communications skills under simulated emergency conditions. These groups work with disaster relief agency officials from the Red Cross, Salvation Army, government emergency management, local hospitals and other entities.  They are trained with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service officials.  To learn more visit arrl.org.
