Mankato (KMKO)-The city of Mankato will host a public hearing as part of the Mankato City Council meeting starting at 6:00 this evening. The hearing will be held in the Minnesota River Room on the first floor of the Intergovernmental Center. The purpose of the hearing is to present proposed changes to existing Monday through Friday and Saturday bus routes. The proposed changes came as a result of citizen input, a route redesign advisory committee, public presentations and the city newsletter. The mobility bus service will not be affected by any proposed changes. Proposed routes eliminate the need for transfers between downtown Mankato and the River Hills Mall/Wal-Mart area and between Minnesota State University and the River Hills Mall/Wal-Mart area.
